Cheryll is a Bay Area native, returning 20 years ago after time out for living in Las Vegas, Nevada and Iowa City, Iowa. She spent 20 years teaching college composition, rhetoric, speech, and literature at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a variety of community colleges, and the University of Iowa. Her goal was always to teach not just communication through the written and spoken word, but also that everyone has a voice if only they learn to use it.
After leaving teaching, Cheryll began a new career in college textbook publishing, first as a development editor and then as a project manager. She produced primarily math titles, including the best-selling calculus series in the world. As textbook sales began to decline, Cheryll moved on to manage Ebooks, websites, videos, and animations.
Tenacious and organized, Cheryll is happiest when she is handed a disorganized project with many moving pieces for her to make sense of. One of her fondest dreams is to tour all the restaurants in the world, copyediting their menus as she goes.
Now moving into her third career, Cheryll is using her marketing and writing skills to manage the marketing collateral for The Gunderman Group. A resident of Alameda, she enjoys cooking a good meal, reading a good book, and meandering along the Alameda Shoreline path with her husband, Randy and her dog, Roxy.
