Andrew Ulmer

RealtorĀ® Partner

Outgoing and keenly curious, Andrew came to The Gunderman Group seeking rewarding new opportunities to connect with the East Bay community and guide clients through transformative moments in their lives. Earlier in his career, Andrew found deep joy and satisfaction leading active travelers on challenging, meaningful, and luxurious international journeys as a professional travel guide for Backroads. Real estate builds on his passion for guiding people toward their goals, mitigating risks and making the process enjoyable along the way.

Taking a comprehensive approach to understanding clients’ concerns, constraints, and possibilities, Andrew’s goal is to craft the most effective and creative strategy for each situation. He leverages the negotiation, relationship building, and market analysis skills he honed during 20 years of management consulting and executive leadership at technology startups. Andrew also brings a unique perspective gleaned from teaching high school in San Francisco and serving as a research fellow in experimental atomic physics at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs.

Andrew is a native Californian and has lived in the East Bay and San Francisco for over 30 years. He fell in love with the Bay Area’s access to nature and the cultural and food scenes when he arrived at the University of California at Berkeley. At Cal he earned an undergraduate degree in Physics and Spanish, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude. Andrew later received an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

When not helping clients, Andrew enjoys backpacking or eating dim sum with his seven-year-old daughter, running or riding through the East Bay hills with his three-year old yellow Labrador Retriever, Lola, or relishing dinner, drinks or walks with friends.
